Teleclass – Twitter for Business

Do you want to gain credibility, connections, and customers?

You can, with Twitter!

That’s right, you can build credibility, make connections and gain customers by using the micro-blogging website www.Twitter.com – the same one where most people tell you what they ate for lunch, what they’re watching on TV or where they’re at.

Let me share with you the strategies and tools I use to build my business with Twitter — FREE!

First, who am I and why am I obsessed fascinated with Twitter…

Hi!  I’m Michelle Shaeffer.  It’s nice to meet ya.

In a nutshell I’ve been designing websites since 1995, working from home since 2000, and have built a successful business online (while still juggling “mom” duties including homeschooling my three kids).  I love the online world and helping others to build their own successful businesses.

I’ve been on Twitter for a little over 2 years now but only really using it for the last 15 months or so.  At first it seemed really stupid, and I couldn’t figure out why in the world I should be interested in it.  I’m usually not such a slower learner but I’ll admit that the idea of Twitter just wooshed right over my head!

Now I’ve got nearly 6,000 followers, Twitter Grader says I get gold stars (okay, just 100% and no gold stars), and I’m regularly connecting with others and using Twitter to grow my business.

Thanks to Twitter here’s what’s happened for me within a month last year (when I was pretty new on Twitter):

  • I gained four new clients for a website redesign service before the site had even launched
  • I’ve been able to connect with several well-known solopreneurs for joint ventures and cross promotions
  • My newsletter list is growing (track your stats)
  • I found out how to remove gum from my daughter’s hair – Twitter is good for more than business!
  • My website traffic is up significantly (again, track those stats!)
  • I keep buying things from Etsy sellers…

Oh, wait. That last one isn’t a benefit for MY business, is it? But does show that people are buying from people they meet on Twitter!

And since then I’ve learned even more about how to use Twitter to drive traffic to my blog, promote events, offer my products/services, and showcase my expertise to build my credibility.

Maybe you’re thinking… But will it work for ME and MY business?

Are your prospective customers online?  Are those you could run joint ventures or promotions with online?  Would building social proof be helpful for your business?

Yes!  YOU can benefit from getting on Twitter (if you do it right).

But Twitter’s an alien world! I’ve never Tweeted!

But what if you have NO IDEA where to start, what the heck to Tweet, and feel like Twitter is full of aliens?  (Forgive me, I found the cute tweetie alien and just had to work it into this page somehow!)

I’m on Twitter, but I don’t really know how what to DO with it…

Or maybe you’ve got a Twitter account and you’ve tweeted some but aren’t sure how to really use it effectively to get traffic back to your website.

I can help with either problem!

Never fear!  The spaceship to help you make first contact or improve your relationship with Twitter is here.
