5 Clever Hook-Line Twists to Grab Attention & Get More Clicks

Are you ready for more ACTION?

Clicks, comments, page views, sales…

Wait, did you think I meant something else by action?

*insert shaking head here*

I’m talking the kind of action that…

  • builds your business…
  • helps you get noticed…
  • allows you to help more people…
  • and get your message out there in a BIG way!

You DO want more of all that, right?

GREAT!

Here’s the thing.

You’ve got your message, you know your ideas, you’re ready.

You’ve just got to connect with people in a way that grabs their attention and compels them to excitedly take action.

How can you do that?

It all starts with your Hook-Lines… that’s your first opportunity and the first thing people see so we’ve gotta start there.

Let me share with you 5 simple twists you can use to easily BOOST your hook-lines to get exponentially better results:

1. Add “How to…”

Simple, easy, takes about 2 seconds, but this really works to grab attention.

You aren’t just telling them something is possible…

“House Train Your Puppy”

…but you’re letting them know you’ll show them exactly…

“How to House Train Your Puppy”

Two little words = a big difference!

2. Make it Step by Step Easy

Try starting your headline with…

“3 Easy Steps to House Train Your Puppy”

Or…

“How to House Train Your Puppy in 3 Easy Steps”

This instantly makes your reader feel like the topic is something they can probably do, and maybe you’ve got a secret way to make it easier than they thought it would be.

3. Get Rid of Their Perceived Excuses

What’s the “even if” for your audience?

Everyone’s got excuses as to why they haven’t yet achieved or accomplished what they say they want to, yet. So, let’s remove those…

“How to Successfully House Train Your Puppy Even If You’ve Failed 27 Times Before”

“House Train Your Puppy in 7 Days or Less Even If You’re at Work All Day”

Whatever the excuse is that makes your reader think something isn’t possible – let them know right in your hook-line that it IS possible!

4. Add a Number

Did the numbers above catch your attention more?

“7 Days or Less”

“Failed 27 Times”

“3 Easy Steps”

Numbers are specific and help create trust in your readers. You must be able to help or guide them, if you know exactly when, exactly how many, exactly any number that fits.

So, try adding numbers, percentages, etc. to your hook-lines.

5. Think Gurus and Experts

Who are the “gurus” and “experts” for your audience? Find ways to work them into your headlines…

“How to House Train Your Puppy in 3 Easy, Vet-Approved Steps”

“You Can Easily House Train Your Puppy in 7 Days with This Vet-Approved Method”

All five of these strategies can boost your Hook-Line Dynamic score (yes, really, they’re built into the scoring formula) because they WORK.
