Your blog’s on fire! No, not the good kind of fire from a surge of traffic — the bad kind like your server exploded, a hacker crashed it, or a virus ate it all. Oh no! Do YOU know how to recover?
With the video in this post you will!
Let me show you how to safely backup both your files (your WordPress files, themes, images, and other attachments) AND your database (where your posts, pages, and comments are) with a free plugin called WordPress EZ Backup.

If users do not want to use the wordpress plugin for security reasons and have access to the servers command line, they can also make a backup of the database with following command:
mysqldump -u admin -p pass123 DatabaseName > databasename.sql
with ‘admin’ and ‘pass123′ being the user/password to the database and “DatabaseName’ the actual name of the wordpress database.

Michelle,
This is a very important video. I have set this set up. I was wondering how long to have to keep the emails they send?

If you’re moving from one server to another, the easiest way is using a complete cPanel backup, if you’re on a cPanel server and moving to a cPanel server. Check with the new host — some will restore a cPanel backup for you making it very simple to move.
