Looking for an easier way to keep up with the blogs you enjoy?
Subscribing by email can work but often my favorite blogs get lost amidst the phalanx of spam, marketing emails, and craziness that is my inbox…
(Side note: Yes, I am comparing it to an army ready to attack, today that’s quite the feeling I get from my mail. ;) You probably know that feeling, too.)
So here are three simple options to consider:
1. RSS Reader
If you’ve got a Kindle or Nook, set it up with the gReader app (or a similar app) and you’ll be able to easily open it and see what’s new on your favorite blogs.
My must-reads are all in my Google Reader so I can catch up with them whenever I’ve got a few minutes.
Here’s a great video that explains RSS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0klgLsSxGsU
Many of the blogs I enjoy I add to my NetworkedBlogs list so when I’m
wasting a few minutes networking and connecting on Facebook I can click over to my NetworkedBlogs app and scroll through them quickly.
You can find yours at http://apps.facebook.com/blognetworks/ if you’re using the app. If not, give it a try, it’s a convenient way to scan through blogs and see what catches your eye.
Another option is the BlogLovin’ service that gives you a way to follow your favorites. Handy if you like to read on your iPhone or Android device.
Your Turn! How do you follow your favorite blogs? Do you use any of these services, or others? Bloggers, what options are you giving readers for following your blog?
